  The Tamale Int. airport is not meant for Muslims on pilgrimage but as an international airport it can be used for all international flights. Even Buddhist can use the airport for whatever.

Christians have been going on pilgrimages for years successfully and we don't want government involvement with the smelly politics that is entailed. We don't care if hover spends on Islamic pilgrimages, that is their choice. We are fine without the politics.

He is not the first general secretary and certainly not the last but we want to hear more spiritual and biblical issues from him. How would you bring details of a closed door meeting public? If the minister wanted it publicised, he would have gone to Makola to hold the meeting. Rev. Mr, please concentrate on your core mandate and be more visible with preaching the word of God than these issues.

Your'e deliberately oblivious of the numerous SOCIO economic challenges confronting the nation ie, lack of proper housing, health and safety issues, education, filth n ghettos springing up erywhere etc, instead ure planning on spending money to send pilgrims to a so called holy land!   It seems the goverment does not realise that the Ghanaian society has evolved and values like honest dealing, accountability and prudence in economic management are now treasured more than ever.
  Government has no business sponsoring pilgrimages with public funds. The same religious bodies balk when government tries to regulate their activities. It is time we stopped public expenditure on schemes solely intended to win political support.
  We ought to use our scarce resources meaningfully. Government appointees should be really careful with feather - brained schemes which waste the state coffers and rather focus on the critical life and death issues.
