John Kufuor served two military juntas.
Kufuor want us to believe that the National Liberation Council that ruled by a decree without parliament with some parties outlawed together with parliamentary democracy was more democratic than the CPP government under Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
To readers John Kufuor served as the mayor of Kumasi under NLC and a minister in the PNDC government.
Kufuor said that the presence of a prison means there is no democracy under Kwame Nkrumah, however Kofi Busia under whose government Kufuor served did not released ministers and members of CPP who were put into protective detention by the NLC.
Readers should remember that the NLC replaced the Prevention Detention law that was passed by the British colonial administration with Protective Detention Act.
It is on record that Kofi Busia and Edward Akufo-Addo the father of Nana Akufo-Addo both served the military junta National Liberation Council which overthrew a constitutionally established government of the CPP, and rather by parliamentary acts, ruled by a decree.
It is on record that Busia was an adviser to the NLC.
It is a fact that dictatorship is applied by the colonialists and their quislings like Kufuor to any ruler in the developing countries who is not a stooge, puppet and doll of the west.
The word dictatorship is the most abused word that any quisling of the west together with their doll masters call a dictator a person they are unable to control with their puppet strings.
John Kufuor has even forgotten when one party state was introduced in Ghana and under which circumstances. At the time one party state was introduced in Ghana through a referendum the majority of countries in the developing economies including South Korea and the Ivory Coast had one party state.
The same applied to South European countries which were then under fascist regimes up to 1975.
I can not fault the Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah on anything because he showed loving kindness toward those who made several attempts on his life.
It is on record that the west murdered several leaders of the liberation struggle in the colonial countries, and notable among them is Patrice Lumumba. Then went further to murder in their sleep people who spoke against racial segregation which was a practice in the west, which has been disguised now.
It is on record that after seating in parliament Kwame Nkrumah will call Kofi Busia then leader of the opposition in parliament to discuss his plans about the development of Ghana. However Kofi Busia was of the view that Kwame Nkrumah was moving the socioeconomic condition of Ghana too fast and what he disliked most was the slow cutting of the apron string of British colonialism.
On the eve of our independence Busia lamented just as Kufuor is lamenting today that the British were in haste to abort their colonial experiment with the people of the Gold Coast by granting us independence.
John Kufuor is one of those who prefer tranquility in servitude under British colonialism and was opposed to Ghana having her independence with all the dangers it entail.
It is on record that all the countries that adopted one party state accepted multiparty system of government only in the 1990s and we need not go far because the Ivory Coast is a good example.
Any fool can point at a good person and call him a dictator because he has not harmed others.
It is a fact that the world outlook and behavior of a person becomes clear during the time of his productive activity and Kufuor reveal himself as a dimwit during his presidency from 2001 to 2009.

Yeah right,sometimes I wonder why many of us are so ignorant, this I believe some of us refuse to read wide. "Golden opportunity to build democracy indeed" Do you really beieve that the then colonial administration had any genuine interest to educate the then natives apart from extracting and exporting away Ghana'a well endowed natural resources? Check the archives and find it for yourself. Ghana was occupied and colonised for over 300 years. Go and find out how many schools they built by the time Nkrumah took over? Democracy? Like the natives would continue to vote term in and term out until the kingdom of Christ comes without and meaningful development of education. Even the current supposedly democratic dispensation we praised ourselves for espousing just analyse the progress in development and honestly judge for yourself if it is anything to "take home". Main reason is the Elites who inherited the ways of the colonialist operating under the guise democracy have been looting and pillaging the country's coffers with impunity.

We are even pretty lucky that Nkrummah managed under difficult circumstances with the eyes of the colonialist/neacolonialist and the then wannabe imperialist (Uncle Sam)'s watchful eyes to had achieved what he did for Ghana in terms of education, infrastructure, agriculture, arts and other developmental initiatives. I can guess as a Ghanaian you may love and admire the strides that Singapore, Malaysia and some other Asian tigers have made in their developmental efforts. Check their history and their trajectory of where and how they started to get to where they currently are. Their first presidents were Nkrumah's contemporaries and friends.

Today which of these African countries have repaid the money your Dad stupidly gave out. None of them have bothered to pay back. Would it have been wise to have made Ghana prosperous before thinking of other African countries. that is making sure every region had its of community centre, community library, best schools not just in Accra but all our regions with the same standards of education. As things stands to date there is a vast inequality in our distribution of wealth in the whole country. Whose fault did this start from. Ghana was thought at independence, to be in the most advantageous position compared to any other sub-Saharan African colony.

The country was endowed with mineral resources like gold, diamonds and manganese, in addition to cocoa and timber.

NKRUMAH the bold AFRICAN leader provided Ghana with an infrastructure of roads, railways, the Tema motorway, Tema harbour, Tema city, sugar, meat, shoe radio factories (do I need to go on?), that was way beyond any other African colony at the time of his overthrow.

In addition, in line with Nkrumah’s 7-year Development Plan 1963-1970, which tied educational development to the national economic vision, many technical colleges were also opened to meet the manpower requirements of the over 600 factories and industries being set up in new independent Ghana.

Through this policy vision, new technical colleges and secondary schools were established in the north and others projected for opening in the 1970s.

However, by 1965, the enemies of progress, the TRAITORS stepped in with the help the CIA sabotaged our economy leading to his overthrow.

We still in this 21st century, lack visionary leadership that is capable of showing some empathy towards the plight of millions of GHANAIANS, despite these lessons of history.

We have had and still have a state machinery oppressive, expensive, CORRUPT, inefficient, opaque, insensitive and GREEDY whilst our rural folks still wallow in abject poverty. That make up is a mix of the UP, NLC, PPP, PNDC, NDC and NPP.
Their SPINELESS leaders with no vision, is what has brought us to this hopeless state!

How come those so-called leaders continue to follow NKRUMAH'S vision, if they really had any?
