I can say emphatically that 21st century interviews are not based on regurgitation of facts but the ability to tell a story and still able to answer the question.

What the finance minister said was that ordinary people when given the chance can achieve extraordinary results. Same applies to GH.

By the way who cares about Achimota, Legon, at such a gathering. You only needed to make you case period.

Now coming to Law in the Statutes of Ghana, it was incredible the way the finance man pot rated his own father, mother, and family as savages that were going to abort him.

The prudent decisions the mother had to make, coupled with the belated sense of responsibility the father made, precipitated a move towards the success story of Ken. So to me, he answered the question by drawing a parallel with his birth parents' story. He didn't mean to go into the specifics which I understand, because to explain how he intend to play around the £140 billion mark he cited on Cocoa proceeds would amount to threatening the economies of the 'bigger nations'. By the way, those 'bigger nations' are the very architects in the IMF. Ghanaians talk too much! Success begins with a vision which to me, he demonstrated. Time will tell. Cheers!

Ken Ofori-Atta is cool and collected! He's of his usual or normal self and focused on delivering his bit to rebuilding Ghana's sunken economy. He's an astute money manager and trader of international repute. That's a fact! The NDC, in their bid to denigrate the gov't led by H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo, is trying to drag the finance minister's name into the mud, citing a non-existent corruption.

NDC is made up of a bunch of nation wreckers whose main objective is to destroy people, esp. political opponents, in order to win power. But anytime they're given the chance to rule or lead the nation, they always fail to deliver! Since 1992 when the AFRC/P-NDC turned into a political party, they've shown beyond reasonable doubt that they know nothing about governance or ruling or leading a nation to succeed, or unto paths of progress and development.

They've always sought to destroy businesses of progressive people---business people! One wonders why the NDC should using crude means; always lacking intellectual subtlety, yet pretending to be clever! What does the NDC know about economic management, if one may inquire about it?

NDC will always use "buga-buga" tactics, electoral fraud, character assassination, abduction of noble Justices, murder of political opponents and other heinous crimes, just to achieve their desire goals. It's pathetic!

I do not speak for him, but as a fair-minded Ghanaian who loves his country and wants it to prosper, Ken Ofori Atta was simply making the point that like his improbable rise from a tough and disadvantaged rural background to the he heights he has risen to, Ghana too, despite being hobbled by unimaginative leadership in the past, is also capable of rising above its present straightened circumstances to become a prosperous society.

The media in Ghana need to understand that there are millions of Ghanaians struggling daily survive - and that we all owe it to the younger generations to make our homeland Ghana a well-run economy and well-governed nation.

This kind of media negativity does not help the nation-building process in the slightest.

The Herald needs to do some introspection and begin to see the needs of the masses of of he Ghanaian people and report on those - instead of trying to ridicule a man who has achieved more in life and contributed a zillion times more to Ghana's growth than the narrowe-minded provincials and intellectual dwarfs who write such rubbish.
