But you might have your headache multiplied by 4 if you fall for the beauty of women like Otiko Djaba, or Ursula Owusu or fearfully Frances Essiam. I wont even like my worst enemy to have the misfortune of marrying Frances Essiam.

  Well spoken Most Rev. The funding of the trip is from taxes collected from Ghanaians and the government should realise that not all Ghanaians are Christians and should think of it's implications. Another way to chop small!

  Yes all people who go on pilgrimages to any religious site must bear their own burden/ticket. But just as government has built accommodation centers for moslems when they want to go Mecca, it will not be wrong for government to build same for Christians who want to go on pilgrimages to Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Nazareth and the Vatican. It is just fair to Christians too.

  At the time of Jesus, nobody dared breaking the laws in Judaism. Jesus did not dare. Get me one quotation from the Bible that mention that jesus was the founder of Judaism. Both Jesus and John The Baptist had followers. Why was Jesus Baptised and into what faith?

The Scripture maintain that, God is spirit and they that worship him must worship him in truth and in spirit. Going to Israel will not guarantee you heaven. I wish even true Christians who can pay to go even invest their money in the country to create jobs for the numerous unemployed youth. We Methodists are practical theologian and we practice Holistic Christianity. I know my very listening President who loves our nation more than any Ghanaian will heed to the advice from this great Man of God. God bless you Most Rev.Prof Emmanuel Kwaku Asante. The fact that Muslims pray five times a day does not mean Christians should go to church five times a day, it depends on what ur religion tells u to do. For the Muslims it's a pillar for them to embark on hajj but it's not the same for Christians, so why must Christians add this to their wahala. If this is not a religious obligation for Muslims I don't think many of them will spend a fortune on this pilgrimage instead of spending the money on productive ventures or even traveling to Europe for greener pastures. We can call on gov't to stop sponsoring pilgrimages of any kind, whoever wants to do it should do it with their own resources, period.

What did psalm 84:5-6 says ?"Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who has set their heart on a pilgrimage. Verse 6, As they pass through the valley of Baca ( the only place called Baca on this planet earth is now known as Mecca ) they make it a source of spring water ; even the autumn rain will cover it with blessings. I know people will bring new and old testament to justify their arguments but before that remember what Jesus said in Mathew 5:17 Think not I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I have not come to destroy but to fulfill. Mathew 5:18 for verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass ,one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law ,till all be fulfilled. Just like in exodus 30:20-21 said " when they go into the tabernacle of the congregation they shall wash with water that they die not or when the come near to the alter to minister to burn offering made by fire to God. Verse 21: so they shall wash their hands and feet that they die not and shall be a statute for ever to them even to him and to his seed throughout their generations. Accept that you are deceiving the congregation because of selfish interest but not to gain salvation.

  How do we become Christians, by confessing our sins, receiving christ and baptism. These are implicit in the bible.
  Thereafter you receive holy baptism.
  Pilgrimage to no land is not part of it.
  We can't rewrite the bible to suite our taste.

Our Politicians are so bereft of sensible programs for developing our sad country that they're always to ready to embark upon useless distractions to please the poor uneducated populace to court cheap popularity! Children and mothers are dying like flies for lack of adequate basic medical facilities/drugs but these idiots are all to ready to involve themselves in matters that don't concern them. Even what business has the Gov't got to do with Muslims going to Mecca on pilgrimage when there are thousands of homeless and unemployed Ghanaians on our streets? Have we forgotten the saying " charity begins at home"? Wake up citizens and be smart and start getting rid of these headless chickens we have as MPs and members of Gov't!!

This is becoming their preaching pitch recently, but you this abstract gesture for christians is knocking these preachers off, why dont they shut up? Of course, we know they are wealthy enough to travel to the Holy lands on their flocks' dime, why dont they leave the poor folks alone to enjoy the gesture from the government? Seems they are fixated on just portraying themselves as patriots, but the public is becoming quite apprehensive of their acts which are not assuaging anything.
