Truly these supreme court's two rulings are more confusing and frustrating. The Gitmo 2 and LS entrance exams are unconstitutional and yet the apex goes on to allow the perpetuation of the illegality into the future till a time specified by the court. Amazingly incredible moments in Ghana. We will survive. God bless

DEAR READING PUBLIC OF "GHANAWEB.COM", IT IS A TRITE KNOWLEDGE THAT SHOULD CANDIDATES HAVE THE PREREQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS TO WALK THEM DIRECTLY TO GHANA SCHOOL OF LAW FOR THE PROFESSIONAL LAW COURSE THEN IT IS REASONABLE AND LOGICAL THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE A DIRECT ENTRY TO THE LAW SCHOOL OF THE PROFESSIONAL LAW STUDIES. THAT ARTICLE 25 CLAUSE 1 (C) OF THE 1992 CONSTITUTION PROVIDES AS FOLLOWS: "EDUCATIONAL RIGHTS"
CLAUSE 1 "ALL PERSONS SHALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO EQUAL EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES AND FACILITIES AND WITH A VIEW TO ACHIEVING THE FULL REALISATION OF THAT RIGHT.
CLAUSE 1 (C) HIGHER EDUCATION SHALL BE MADE EQUALLY ACCESSIBLE TO ALL, ON THE BASIS OF CAPACITY< BY EVERY APPROPRIATE MEANS< AND IN PARTICULAR, BY PROGRESSIVE INTRODUCTION OF FREE EDUCATION"
CLAUSE 1 (E) THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SYSTEM OF SCHOOLS WITH ADEQUATE FACILITIES AT ALL LEVELS SHALL BE ACTIVELY PURSUED".
THAT ARTICLE 38 EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:
ARTICLE 38 (1) THE STATE SHALL PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES AT ALL LEVELS AND IN ALL THE REGIONS OF GHANA, AND SHALL, TO THE GREATEST EXTENT FEASIBLE MAKE THOSE FACILITIES TO ALL---"
IT IS THEREFORE< MY RESPECTFUL AND HUMBLE SUBMISSION THAT THE REAL AND ACTUAL PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED BY THE GHANA SCHOOL OF LAW CONSTITUTIONALLY HINGED ON "CAPACITY AND AVAILABILITY OF FACILITIES TO EXTEND TO ALL QUALIFIED CANDIDATES/STUDENTS WHO ARE ALSO POTENTIAL PROFESSIONAL LAW STUDENTS TO ABSORB ALL THE QUALIFIED CANDIDATES, THERETO.
THAT ANOTHER "CATCH WORD" TO CONTEMPLATE WITH IS "FEASIBLE" AND THAT THOSE WORDS/PHRASES INTERPRETATIONS THAT SHOULD BE DETERMINATIONS AREAS.
HOWEVER< THE SUPREME COURT AS THE HIGHEST COURT OF GHANA DECISIONS TO BE RESPECTED AND ACCORDED DUE RESPECT BUT FOR THE SAKE OF THE DEVELOPMENTS OF GHANA JURISPRUDENCE THERE IS THE NEED FOR LAWYERS, LEGAL ADVANCED SCHOLARS AND INTERNATIONAL LAWYERS/LEGAL CONSULTANTS TO BRAINSTORM, ANALYZE AND TO EVALUATE THE RULING OF THE SUPREME COURT< THE HIGHEST COURT OF GHANA BASED ON GHANA 1992 CONSTITUTION, THERETO.
THEREFORE, THE GENERAL LEGAL COUNCIL TO CONSIDER TO MAKE A STRONG CASE TO THE EXECUTIVE ARMS OF GOVERNMENT AND IN THIS CASE TO H.E.PRESIDENT OF GHANA NANA ADDO DANKWA AKUFO ADDO AND GOVERNMENT OF GHANA TO PROVIDE THE RESOURCES AND FACILITIES TO ENABLE ALL QUALIFIED CANDIDATES TO HAVE EASY ACCESS TO PURSUE THE BARRISTER-AT LAW (B.L.)PROFESSIONAL LAW COURSE.
FURTHER< THAT THE GENERAL LEGAL COUNCIL TO CONSIDER TO UPGRADE THE PROFESSIONAL LAW COURSE QUALIFICATIONS TO MATCH UP AND TO COMPETE WITH OTHER JURISDICTIONS OF THE WORLD.
THAT A CASE IN POINT ARE THAT PROFESSIONAL LAWYERS IN THE FOLLOWING JURISDICTIONS FINAL QUALIFICATIONS ARE:
(1) UNITED STATES OF AMERICA---JURIS-DOCTOR (JD)
(2) EASTERN EUROPEAN COUNTRIES/CIVIL LAW JURISDICTIONS-----PhD.
BUT IN GHANA STILL "QUALIFYING CERTIFICATE IN LAW".
THAT THE BIG CONCERNS OF GHANA LAWYERS CASE WHY AFTER FIRST DEGREE QUALIFICATIONS AND POST_GRADUATE COURSE STILL BEING CONSIDERED AS SUCH?
IT IS THEREFORE< MY RESPECTFUL SUBMISSION AND CANDID OPINION THAT WE ARE NOW IN THE 21ST CENTURY WORLD WHERE COMPETITION IS THE GLOBAL NORM AND GHANA CANNOT AFFORD TO BE LEFT BEHIND.
RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED.
VERY TRULY YOURS,

Selfishness and greed has eaten deep into the mental fiber of the average Ghanaian so called "intellectuals" and the dumb heads at GLC are no exception. In fact, selfishness in the church, in the bank, in the politics and everywhere. How much of infrastructure and skills does it take to expand legal training in Ghana to make it accessible to all interested qualified candidates just like the US, UK and SA etc. that has taken Ghana over 60 years after independence to achieve? GLC has always been hiding behind flimsy excuses to corner legal training for few equally block headed family and friends. After all the rigid scrutiny through corruptible exams and interviews, can any one still compare the crop of Ghanaian lawyers being churned out to their counterparts in UK, US or SA where accessibility to legal training is so flexible? If not then where lies the sense in GLC's rigid stupidity that has bedeviled legal training in Ghana to date, until it takes a resident of US to travel all down to save us. It a big shame. Selfishness is a disease just like ignorance. SHAME TO GLC!!!
