Although painful as it is Ghanaians should not jump into any conclusion till fact finding is done from the Embassy. i strongly feel something went wrong somewhere for such directive to come from the Embassy.

The Consular laws of the USA are such that even their sitting president cannot override the decision or discretion of a Consular Officer. We in Ghana may give special status to our former Presidents but to others outside Ghana they become private citizens after their term of office. If a former President and other eminent citizens want special visa application treatment to visit the USA, then they must go through the Foreign Ministry. Otherwise the laws of USA do not creat a previldge class to be attended to. This is why the USA has become such a magnet country globally. Unlike other countries, including Ghana, social and economic mobility is not fundamentally and legally based on class, but on the individual's own efforts. It is the country of the free and the home of the brave! Check and you will find out that USA has minted more Ghanaian at masters and PHD levels and more economic millionaires who achieved their wealth and knowledge by their own boots straps and not through corruption of a political advantage or the privilege of class? Go and get a lesson on American values and the legal regime behind the embassy's new rules for visa. You may be educated to stop pandering to the political gallery of those who do not understand .
