  The money is not on coal and it's relevance as an energy resource is decreasing very rapidly. There are lots of stories of renewable energy now contributing significantly to the energy needs of a lot of countries.

  The money is not on coal and it's relevance as an energy resource is decreasing very rapidly. There are lots of stories of renewable energy now contributing significantly to the energy needs of a lot of countries.
  And with climate change, it has become difficult to make the case for coal as an energy source. So with the non- renewable sources, we have effectively, fossil fuels and nuclear.
  The good thing is, Africa abounds in all the natural resources needed to address the scope of it's renewable and non-renewable energy mix and that should be the focus. Structured investments and technology transfer should help address these difficulties in a meaningful way, with the ultimate goal of creating a economically resilient, independent, peaceful and prosperous continent which translates to global stability.
