This is a step in the direction, however, ugh is needed to be on the Ghana front to get most of enrolled.The issues of bribery, corruption and naked cheating that had formed the thinking of Ghanaians will be a major stumbling block. Some diasporians have acquired saving and pensions large enough put together to alleviate some of Ghana's problems. These accumulations are already invested in markets and securities that give returns free of trouble. To ask someone to take out investment to Ghana and be asked to pay bribe before a paid worker do his or her is work is tantamount to telling someone you are STUPID. Government and Ghanaian population should learn about the evils of bribery, corruption and stealing from people. The truth is the opportunity costs in moving money from secured investment abroad to Uncontrolled, indisciplined Ghana are very high. Some people were motivated by Kuffuor to be burned by the NDC after moving their resources. Therefore, serious measures to be taking, otherwise Ghana will continue on this slope of sliding into oblivion. We have the people in all spheres of life, retired and will like to go back and help in terms teaching technology, mathematics, business, health services, in addition, to pension(401k) and investments. Ghanaians should work harder to attract and work with these people to get the necessary transfer.

Being able to read or being literate doesn't mean you are educated no matter how many Phd degrees you can boast off. on the issue of galamsey what really destroys our country causing the poisoning of the waters and barrenness of the land are the heavy metals including mercury and cyanide. The quantities of this product could not be imported into this country without the political blessing and pro-activism of both the exporting country China and ours. China is an exporter of economic terrorism and undermining our economic potential by actively corrupting our willing politicians and strategically destroying the future of our children. These are the allies of pepeni Bawumia , Mahama and all other Akan haters and their traitors amongst us. Where in the world today could you transport such quantities of these poisons mercury , cyanide and such without it being monitored? Can China claim they didnt know? the bill to now sort out the sanitation , water cleaning and waste management is now over $ 40 billion DOLLARS. Why do we we need Chinese money when the American EXIM bank has publicly offered us tens of billions with the much needed technology yet they are ignored as only Chinese and arab/muslim money is acceptable? I have said many times that the corner stone of any country's development are the diaspora , check Germany Japan China etc but in our country infested by Islamic stupidity we have rather a whole ministry for Zongo stupidity instead of just deporting them.the pepeni /ayigbe conspirators together with their Muslim and Chinese allies continue unabated to destroy our Akanland and push our people into poverty under the watch of kwasiapsanyin Nana Addo. NDC lost the elections because most Akans and patriotic citizens realized this party does not appreciate or reflect the true interests of the people but rather its a mafia criminal organization that will cause the eventual bloodshed among our people. After the death /murder of Mills NDC lost all its appeal and there was no hope it would ever get back on the right track to serve the interests of the people.NDC is a disappointment and will end up on the landfill of rubbish organizations . NPP from the looks of things will most likely also be joining them soon and in their place the AKAN freedom movement will rise. Anytime an Akan actually does something good or worthy for the nation some pepeni , ayigbe , Muslim or some other minority comes and destroys everything dead, that is the fact. 58% of our bauxite was handed over as a step to colonize the wealth of the Akan , were in the world would a minority be given such privileges if it was not to undermine the majority. All natural resources should be nationalized including gold , then properly developed as sustainable businesses then privatized through a coupon system so all citizens become direct owners . We are definitely a nation of idiotic fools , i have for a while decided to hold my peace because it seemed we have a sensible finance minister making the right moves but this toxic pepeni kwasiapanyin Bawumia has erased all good. Atta Mills went to bed with this Satan and it cost him his life together with 200,000 hardened criminals they sent here that have poisoned our water bodies and long term devastated our economy. China has ignored over a billion of their citizens in dire need of the entering into the post industrial era and come here and promise WHAT? I said that this Bawumia is the reincarnation of the devil and evil that air brained Nana has put in his office. He continues with his project of the islamisation of Ghana with the establishment of an Islamic university to breed toxic propagators of evil in our land. He blocks all Akan diaspora private capital in the tens of billions because its from primarily Christian countries. Where in the world has China given capital , technology and industry for another country to develop? The only reason why this is on the table is to make Ghana a suspicious ally at best to our western civilizations and other christian countries . We saw an influx of Islamic money which we don't need yet everyone played dumb because the political oligarchy is playing ball with the Muslim caliphate and soon our stubborn Christians will start seeing their children's throats being turned toward Mecca like goats and slashed . My brothers arm yourselves like our friends in Denkyira but wait for the clarion call to wipe out this cancer amongst us. Enough is enough

We need a permanent secretariat where we can register, maybe with yearly membership fee that will allow us discounts on personal effects like vehicle, equipments, a place where we can get information about new gov't projects in the pipeline, where to invest and so on. If this idea is properly thought out, gov't can harness financial support from us to fund projects thereby enabling us to have shares, reducing dependence on foreign loans.

No one but your family waits for remittances. Diaspora must pay taxes like bonafide Ghanaians, then you can access services. Until then, you pay all fees, as long as you hold a US or British or non-Ghanaian passport!

Most of the folks in the government have in fact so many honorable degrees and l wonder what exactly they did to get them because l personally do not see most of them using their so called degrees to do anything positive in the country, how they acquired those honorable degrees l absolutely have no idea.

Go to Japn and you will find Ghanaians speaking the language fluently, China, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Greece, Portugal, France, you name a country and we have Ghanaians there. My advice is we should leave politics politics out of it and help uild our own country nobody will build ghana gorgeous us.the chines, Indians, Europeans,and the Americans are all here to get our resources to go and build their country or home so we should remove this notion of them here to develop Africa or Ghana for us.
Slave trade lasted for 400 years,how long was colonisation, and now looting of Africa's oil and resources, any leader who do not give in to them they use human rights, and democracy to remove you.like Ghadarfi in Lybia, was it better during his time or now answer that question.
Let me go back to the main topic. Our fear is you pack all hour things to go home to establish a business or factory with the intention of helping to reduce the unemployment of the youth,and because you established it during NPP regime, when another party comes they find ways to bring your business down or tagged you as this or that party sympathiser.you have already relocated from abroad and you can't go back and start all over again. Those are the things our leaders should find way to address first.

The government has a penchant for pedantics regarding involving Ghanaians in the diaspora but it is all chatter and empty rhetoric. For 30 years, we have had a white American as the Ghana Honorary Consul to Houston when we have very qualified people like Kwame who could better do the job of promoting foreign investment in Ghana. The Consul's job is not only about issuing visas but creating trading relationships for Ghana and in that regard, the current Consul has failed abysmally.
Besides running to Ghana every 3 months to ingratiate himself with the officials and singing their praises to ensure that he keeps the job, he doesn't really do much. To add insult to injury, not a single Ghanaian works or has ever worked in his office. And now he has his grandchildren working over there as he physically does not do any of the work.Is the Consul job a dynasty to be passed on from generation to generation? And what is he hiding by excluding Ghanaians from working at his office? We appreciate his service but 30 years is enough as we have enough qualified Ghanaians in Houston with the advantage of understanding the culture and economic dynamics of the country who can do a better job. And you should never discount the intangible benefit of patriotism and loyalty to one's place of birth, no matter how long one has been away. The current Consul's loyalty when push comes to shove is to the USA and not to Ghana. He needs to go!
