Clearly 7 persons at most is what is needed here. Why is the board top heavy with medical doctors?
What the board needs from the medical fraternity is one medical professional with a strong background in health services administration and financing background. A ministry of health representative with a strong health economics, financing and insurance background. One representative from the insurance professionals body with expertise in health insurance, a finance and accounting guru, a specialist in systems monitoring and evaluation, a consumer representative with expertise in heath financing and marketing, and a health care affirs legal officer. "With a board secretary and IT project advisor in addition, one can easily have a competent board of less than 10 members".

Prof. You have said all,the appointment of the 17 member board is only a reflection of 110 ministers Nana Addo appointed on assumption of power. This is an institution which is already saddled with huge financial debt coupled with huge wage bill as result of over staffing and increasing number of political appointments in the mists of corruption at the service provider level.Nana,u promised to keep public purse tieter nd to eschew corruption, now u are laying a foundation for corruption nd grounds for corruption to desapate public money. Since u took over,we are feeling same like mahama era . Nothing has changed in our life except to increases in margins of Products especially fuel. May God save Ghana.
