  While most countries are landlocked and have to pay hefty amounts to use foreign ports for their imports and exports Ghana is blessed with natural harbors.Greece,UK,Taiwan,SA,China,S.Korea among other countries rake in hundreds of billions of dollars each year through their shipping companies.So why can't Ghana get serious in the shipping industry.We are so fortunate to have friendly countries like China who is willing and able to supply us with Cargo and Specialized Ships at affordable rate.So what is our government waiting for? Landlocked African countries will give an arm and leg for a reliable and affordable shippers like us.What is Ghana waiting for? There are so many ways to raise government revenue and employment for our people without selling off our vita' assets!!

  Insurance companies is not the solution. Where do you think they will get the money from. It will be from premium from the very same importers so how does that solve the problem. The process of clearing has to be speeded up that is the solution. There are too many bottlenecks at the port and multiple security agencies and confusion on actual container storage locations which force passing of post entries to correct container location which further delays release. These problems are nothing to do with the importer or agent.

  Why have our leaders allowed this inefficiency at the ports to linger for so long. This should be one of the first problems to solve in order to lower costs for importers and reduce prices costs for consumers.
