Even if you're provoked you must weigh your words before you open your mouth. You may have missed some contracts but it's only 6 months into this new administration. Did you hear Bagbin say about 3 weeks ago that "NPP would start fighting among themselves soon"? Why do you always want everybody to think that if you don't get a project then nobody should win it? By revealing how much this guy contributed towards Nana's campaign you're not helping the guy in any way. You're only ridiculing the party because no one in NDC will ever come to tell the world how much any of their supporters contributed to their elections. Please keep your mouth shut because you're embarrasing us the party Faithfull. If you have any grievances your interest will be better served by going to talk to Nana himself or Bawumia and no talk to the whole world and disgrace the party while you lower your own personality. And I bet my bottom Cedi that he is not the only one that engaged in similar behavior. Ken, himself, admitted to taking such a route to enrich himself, too. The MP mentioned elsewhere how he also did similarly to land lucrative Contracts from the Kufuor Administration.

We have structural problems in our system regarding how we fund our political campaigns, assign Political positions and award Contracts for State projects. But no one seems to care to correct them because those who are in the best position to effect the changes are themselves beneficiaries of those flaws.

Hardly are our procurement processes, for example, any transparent. Our Contracts are, every so often, awarded without any competitive bidding to sole sources. And the Parliament is wholly complicit in all of that.

So, the guy got the Post at BOST because he gave that much money to the NPP's campaign, right?

Now, we know why we can never uproot corruption from our Governments. All one has to do to get a position in Government, or be eligible for big lucrative Contracts, is donate a big sum for political campaigns.

Then, when one buys his or her way into the Government, one could always exploit any available means to amass wealth many times over to the detriment of the Nation. At that point, the Party would care less.

No wonder Ken was mad that he had not received any Contracts from the Government yet.

Anyway, the whole contaminated Fuel saga is not new. The activity, I strongly believe, has been going on since we established GNPC and BOST.

The contamination seems to have always been done deliberately to give the stakeholders excuse to sell off the tainted product for pennies on a Cedi. And the buyers, who happen to be a few entities allowed to participate in the bogus deals, would then resell the Fuel at a much price to some ultimate distributor who knows how to cleanse it to resell at a Market price for a huge profit. The proceeds are then shared among these crooked folks.

People, this is simply stealing from the State, and all who have been involved must be rounded up and prosecuted and jailed after paying hefty fines to recoup much of the original value of the Fuel.

How long should we sit by and watch such insane corruption to go on at high places at the expense of all others in the Nation? While we allow such huge revenues to illicitly flow into these dirty pockets, our Politicians then fly out to every conceivable corner of the Globe to look for financial aid to fund our infrastructural developments. All they have to present to the foreign donors is showing them how poor we still are. And they would then bring home all kinds of loans and Grants which they still have the audacity and insensitivity to chip off their secret illegal commissions into their private accounts.

What a country we live in? I hope no one blames Nkrumah, again, for our woes. Our pompous, show-boating Economic Experts, many of whom are Professors in Varsities, must shelve their stale forensic analyses of our Economy which hardly touch on corruption. These experts must apply themselves better to innovative ways to redeem our Economy, including forcing out of their political cronies in power, and/or demanding their moral commitment to accountability and probity.

Most of our processes to monitor and keep track of our bookkeeping still languish in the old, easily tampered paper-and-cabinet-drawers system. So, we do not have any security to protect our data. That also facilitates cooking of books to hide massive looting in various Government Agencies. In order to keep stealing from us that easily, Civil Servants who aid and abet with their fellow kleptocrats in Political Positions always thwart efforts to modernize our systems to have most of them computerized. The old Civil Servants wanting to stay relevant with all their accumulated experience on doing things manually, hate to employ young and computer-savvy personnel who might push for modernization with digital processes, and soon displace them; the crooked old hands would rather retain control of the system to offer their crooked tricks to new bosses on how to loot from the system to share in the booty.
