I would have expected the academia, should have known better in terms human dignity and rights. I personally, don't see anything wrong when two people agreed to any form of sexual intimacy without having any effect on the society. A whole Prof, spewing such hateful utterances. Am tired of these saying African culture, we are Africans, what at all has been African or African culture brought to us! It is likewise true, as u put it: "crime cannot be paid by crime. But in ur long rantings on how u r disappointed in the 'academia', (even though I suspect u meant ' the academic Prof. Mike Oquaye), you failed to proffer reasons to explain ur disappointment or perhaps, how u felt in your enlightened opinion, things shd be done. Shd we for instance abolish the judiciary and close all correctional facilitaties; shd we abolish our penal systems becos crime cannot be paid with crime? When does crime ceases to be crime; surely there must be a break off point Mr Andrews? Or do u hope to convince me that when an armed robber engages a policeman in a gun shoot out, and the policeman kills him in the process the policeman is guilty of murder? When we fail to punish evil, evil thrives on the shoulders of impunity. And when punishment ceases to be severe and deterrent enough, it ceases in its aim to correct the offender and deter others who may be attracted to same.
On the issue of sex, sexual choices/preferences and what have u; indeed it is nobody's business what u and ur partner choose to do in the privacy of ur closet in one breadth; but it is equally my business in another because nobody lives is isolation; and so in "choosing for yourself, you are unconsciously choosing for the rest of society; you cannot condemn what u approve of or sanction!" It is your moral duty to choose well in ur bid to satisfy ur uncontrolled libido so that innocent lives have a better example to follow!
What u may consider as your right may be an outright violation of another's! YOU THINK IT's UR RIGHT TO ENGAGE AN ANIMAL IN SEXUAL BOUTS; BUT HAS THE ANIMAL CONSENTED? You should rightfully be charged for defilement since animals, much like children, are incapable of making sound behavioral choices!

And in a democracy the voice of the majority is what pertains. The fact us GHANA US NOT FOR THOSE IDEAS that Amnesty International and Andrew Melbourne are advocating or trying to force down our throat - period!! We African are poor and our culture and customs are archaic but don't tell us we have as a result if poverty lost the right to decide for ourselves what is good or bad for our country. Why are the homosexuals not throwing tantrums like Andrew is doing here in places like Saudi Arabia? If Amnesty International really want to protect rights the best way to do it is to bring some sanity and equality in the way products from the so-called developing countries are dealt in on the commodities markets. We are not poor because of our customs. We are poor because of the raw deals handed out to us on world markets for our product and the restrictive practices for access to technology. What we need is access to technology instead of free ticket to hospitals and clinics to fight HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. So AI (and Andrew Melbourbe) please keep your so called advancement and whatever benefits it brings and do not try to force your ideas down our throat just because we are poor. Every culture on earth believes in something. Some believe is Karma; some believe in Self; others believe in God; and that's perfectly ok. Allow us therefore to believe what we believe: that homosexuality, bestiality, Paedophilia, and all forms of sexual perversions are unnatural; harmful and degrading to the body. Respect our collective abhorrence of these degrading sexual practices. Right now there's a new strand of gonorrhoea called super gonnorhoea most prevalent in homosexuals because of all these unnatural penetrations. HIV/AIDS is most prevalent in the gay community and so on. When do u say enough is enough? Last time it was a guy having sex with a fish...something that may end up on ur dinner table with super gonorrhoea!!!

This agenda is being so forcefully sold with all the financial might of the lgbt group that it is now accepted as the norm. To say I am stunned, by the connection this speaker is making between revoking of death penalties and bestiality and the accompanying comments people are making on this platform thereof will be an understatement. There is absolutely no sense in what this speaker said yet people are praising him for a reason I'm yet to understand. These amnesty people called for revoking of death penalty period! Where is the relation to bestialty here? And for a whole reverend to ask for the blood of another by asking "why should someone live after they take another's life" leaves so much to be asked about his character than to be said. Mind you I do not condone the crime of murder but I do believe in our laws and rules that govern our land that adequate measures and punishment are meted out for every crime committed which doesn't have to involve taking another's life. I don't recall reading anywhere from the holy book where Jesus was for the position of an eye for an eye. If so then all the almost 40 murderers of major mahama( May his soup rest in peace) should have been killed by now as per the argument of this useless speaker of parliament. Indeed Ghanaians need to wise up. I thought the article was written in English not knowing most of the people on the platform are Hindus and Chinese for it will only ake such people to misquote and misread something as clear as what the article presented. All you people on here blessing the speaker left and right should know you're calling for the blood of other humans ie.(people put on death penalty). Then I ask the Christians amongst you, what Jesus asked some thousand years ago, "let ye who have not sinned cast the first stone" Let the laws of the land deal with recalcitrant citizens with the exception of taking the lives of those citizens, that was all that was presented by the amnesty people but then again self righteous Ghanaians will jump up and lash out because they saw certain words that churned their stomach in speaker's sentence so suddenly the speaker is a saint. These Gulf states have the worst record cases on homesexuals. They can can not discuss theses issues with them. The reasons are that they have strong business trade and interest with the West developed countries and will not do anything to destroy their interests. We Ghanaians will refuse any attempt to tell us how we should live our lives. They can keep their aid. We will not give in to their demands about legalising homosexuality in Ghana.
