World known greater footballers missed penalty kicks sometime in their carrier. Ronaldo of Real Madrid has missed 15 penalty kicks; some during crucial tournaments. Messi misses crucial penalty kicks too, including Rummenige, Lampad. Do search "Messi penalty misses" on Youtube. Also search for "Ronaldo penalty misses" and "Penalty misses."
You will be fascinated. Be realistic and leave Gyan alone.

No doubt Asamoah-Gyan would score thru penalty kicks again! HOWEVER, IF IT COMES TO VERY IMPORTANT KICKS TO MOVE US FOWARD , HE WOULD ALWAYS FAIL! He should accept the fact that he is no more the "Choice Penalty taker" when it comes to important and critical situations!! He should stop using the national team for his personal predicaments, the national team is not his property and this must be made clear to him! He may try taking the kicks during friendlies but in serious matches, he should refrain from that because with every unsuccessful kick, he becomes more insecure! Apart from that his motive for deciding to take penalties again is because of his personal and selfish zeal of setting new records and not for the service of the team! Its rather unfortunate those who criticize you the most have either not thrown their legs b4 or don't even know the soccer rules so they open their mouth anyhow. If you miss you miss you are not the only great player that has missed or will miss it"s part of the game nobody can surely guarantee a penalty irrespective how great of a player one is you can score 30,40 or 51 goals but penalty is a different ball game altogether that is why Messi,Ronaldo,Neymar all miss penalties sometimes in very crucial games it's not their fault and they do not do that on purpose watch the last minute penalty Messi missed but he did not decide not to take anymore he still does and has still missed some same with Ronaldo just go to Youtube and type in Penalties missed by Messi,Ronaldo and Soccer greats.Everybody misses but in Ghana or Africa we expect our players to be magicians to score all it's impossible and will never happen.Just be yourself and play ball.I wish I could score 51 goals myself or even 10 goals during my career.Cup or no cup your name will forever remain in history books and a memoir of you of you will remain.You have given back enough but even continue to give back kudos to you,Dede,Steve,Muntare,Essien,Kingston,Paintsil,Kuffuor,Abedi,Opoku Nti,Opoku Afriyie,Polo,Sunday,Malik,Osei Kofi,Kofi Abrey,Dan Oppong,Kwasi Wusu,Dan Owusu etc.you have all made Ghana great and your names will remain forever.
