Hmmmm.... Sidney Casely-Hayford has ventilated the sentiments of majority of Ghanaians who are simply fed up with the way parliamentarians in this country behave. He has called a spade a spade. Unfortunately, they will do what they enjoy doing best - inviting people before the privileges committee and bullying threatening and cowing them into submission. How many of our MPs truly represent the interests of their constituents? They allow the executive to pass all kinds of laws under their noses without even scrutinizing them. They vote only along party lines without even considering what is best, fair our just. What seems to matter most to them is their conditions of service, perks and ex-gratia. In case our MPs don't know, the perception about parliament out there among the populace is not a positive one, and Sidney has just spoken for millions of Ghanaians.

We insult them because that house is made up of dishonorable, corrupt and inefficient people who do not conduct themselves in ways befitting their status. Some of them insult the public, make derogatory comments about each other, lie like a dog, engage in dubious and corrupt practices and are just a bunch of no-good doers who are just out to look out for themselves and their selfish parochial interests.
When they earn the respect of Ghanaians, we will stop insulting them. For now though, they are just a bunch of rascals, thieves, liars, and all of the above adjectives, and more.

Sorry Mr. Caseley-Hayford but you went to far. You should have said 90% of MP's are useless and stupid passing stupid laws that hardly ever get implemented, and if implemented not respected nor penalized for not complying to them. That would have been more accurate and could have saved you from the excuse you rendered.
