When your own kind accused you of bribery, you treated it with kid groves and accepted a forced apology.
Respect is gained and not forced on people.
You need to raise the bar to earn respect

If anyone has a right to call out these lazy and corrupt parliamentarians it is you the bearer of the name Casely-Hayford. we remember the contribution of the Great casely-Hayford way back in 1896. These incompetent idiots think they are above everyone, I think this is a classic opportunity for all lawyers who support free speech to rise to the defense of this man. this stupid MPs must be educated well that they cannot cite a private citizen in contempt of parliament, he is a free individual who can speak freely. what is honorable about the stupid lazy work that is done in the so-called parliament when everything about the nation is fested with incompetentce and corruption, we have roads that are literally death traps, hospitals that kills people like flies, schools that churn out more illiterates than my fathers cocoa village, for 20years we are still having energy problems, no potable water in 70% of the nation's villages, we have MPs and ministers who are drug Byron's, I can go on and on, instead of waking up to see what you can change to bring some solutions to these issues, you are there citing ppl for contempt, absolutely no provision of oversight on none of the sectors of the economy. why don't you MPs came to the TV stations and explain to Ghanaians what exactly you do in a typical day and see if it is even equal to what the koko seller had to do in a day???. in a exception of very few that I know to have some integrity, the rest of you are hyenas and nation wreckers and don't even deserve the title Mr. Miss...
I am soo pist..
why don't you go and cite Barack Obama, he said it very clearly that Ghana is not poor but have leaders who think very poorly, is that not the truth????

You are a big fool. Why do come to the defence of media houses and journalists who are attacked by people? You are indeed hypocrite and dishonest.

Parliament in deed has all the rights to charge citizens for contempt, but I don't know why it always fails to attach the same importance to issues when some of its members go beyond the decency and decorum. the attack on the EC chairperson, the attack on Afia Swaziniga, attack on the a immediate past CJ by members of this house is just a few. when will this house begin to apply same rules.

But people do same to the presidency and we are always devided about it even parliament does not consent it. It is only when it is about parliament they have a united front. I like to see same zeal from parliament when it is about other institutions. It does not matter to whom, insults are never and can never be good. Much as I don't support Hayford we have heard and seen some of you the so called honourables insulting the President, heads of institutions publicly to the hearing of our school children and parliament did nothing about them. Judge which one is more damaging to the society? I leave it to each one of us

This is very true - parliament can't placate the color of dignity on itself and force Ghanaians to recognize it. They must earn it. If parliamentarians like Kennedy Agyapong and the new President Akuffo Addo can be calling for violence on some sections of Ghanaians for no reason, I can't see why ordinary Ghanaians cannot call for ordinary physical structure of parliament to be brought down. They have said worse things against Ghanaians in that parliament. What do they want to tell us - that they are more Ghanaians than those outside parliament? They cannot force Ghanaians to respect them especialy as they do not do things that bring honor to themselves

Which right thinking Ghanaian can honestly say most of the Ghanaian parliamentarians are made up of stuff that merit their being parliamentarians.
Seriously look at the quality of debates in parliament, or look at parliamentary vetting proceedings or a matrix of member politicians, or attendances, and compare with meaningful parliaments in sensible countries.
Was it not a recent past speaker of parliament who bemoaned the quality of debates by fellow parliamentarians? Was it not a fellow parliamentarian (Bag in) who said parliamentarians are corrupt? What about the recent Mp's bribery scandals?
Or is it that if parliamentarians say what Sydney said about each other, they are by virtue of being parliamentarians absolved of contempt as opposed to us plebs?--Fellow citizens welcome again to our Ghana "Animal farm"
Ordinary Ghanaians must wake up because our "honourables" are taking us for fools and for a ride.
Until our "honourables" live up to the proverbial Socratic wisdom of "govenor" being wise men, those of us who happen to be wise plebs will continue to ridicule our dishonourable "honourables"
