Action Movement of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused the former first lady, Lordina Mahama and the siblings of former President John Mahama of being the cause of NDC defeat in the 2016 elections. The spokesperson of the group, Kodzo Hamenya Keglo speaking at the Ghana International Press Centre said “while JM was preaching made in Ghana goods (such as shoes, batik and locally made clothes), the wife was doing the opposite by printing T Shirts from China which is a huge disappointment for Ghanaian printing companies.The 20 million pieces of T Shirts JM’s wife printed from China, could have been shared to party members to print them locally and would have created a lot of jobs for Ghanaians.”
JM’s brothers are the main reason why we lost the 2016 elections, collecting all contracts from Airport, Roads, Cocoa Board, GNPC, ECG , VRA, Ministry of Power and all major contracts in the country.“If you don’t see JM brothers, you cannot get a contract and if you see them, then you have to pay money before you get the contract, frustrating foreign contractors and companies by taking Ghanaian contractors for granted and creating enemies for the NDC party,”

Only the Herald or Alhajj tabloids are capable of such reports. The NDC should rid itself of the corruption tag. Attempting to paint the NPP as equally corrupt will not change the public's perception that the NDC is corrupt. The Herald and it's sister tabloid, the Alhajj, should, instead of struggling to paint Nana Addo as a corrupt President, (efforts that have no chance of success),
assist their party in jettisoning its corruption badge. The problem for these two rags though, is that, their readership is limited. They can depend only on diehard NDC supporters.

Such frivolous accusations by the NDC to malign the President would only cause the opposition Party stay longer in Opposition.

Where is the proof for this serious allegation? Someone must drag the NDC, which is turning to be a pitiful sore loser, to Court on this.

We cannot denigrate the Office of our Presidency in such a fashion. When the NPP was in opposition and some unscrupulous NPP operatives resorted to similar tactics against former President Mahama, many decent Ghanaians protested. If there is a reason to believe corruption is going on in the Administration, we have to dig deeper to find the evidence before coming out with a specific charge against a particular entity involved.

It is one thing lamenting the general corrupt environment, and another pinning the badge of corruption on a particular person without the necessary incriminating proof.

It is understandable that the buck stops with the President. But we cannot dump specific malfeasance at his feet without evidence. Other than that, we should have long sent Mahama into the Slammer even before the Elections.

Where is the Woyome loot refund? Where is the SADA money? And all the Guinea Fowls that were said to have flown away to Burkina Faso, where are they? Where are the loot refunds from the GYEEDA and other dubious deals under Mahama's Presidency?

We cannot pick and choose, based on partisan affiliation, who to blame and shame for corruption that all are involved in. We must have Justice with equal measure.

If the NDC does not have provable, credible evidence of Nana Akufo-Addo's incrimination in corruption, it must not dare drug his name into disrepute, and hurt, not only him and his family, but also the whole Nation. Highly publicized false allegations against our President would jeopardize the Nation's stature outside, and make our interactions with other Nations more difficult.

I think it would be fair to criticize the President for failing to act properly to reprimand, and seek Justice in any corruption under his watch. But that is not the same as charging him personally for theft or corruption no one has proof of.
