He could have done better by reassigning the two deputies if he was not going to promote one of them to head the commission. And Charlotte, too, was too naive to have accepted the offer when she knew all too well that her managerial experience was not enough to take up the challenges Afari Gyan could not handle. Consider how juvenile Charlotte behaved over the case of the flagbearers, the voters register and even the logo! She behaved like a spoilt child who knew all too well that her position was protected no matter the circumstances, so she started throwing her weight about. Even events leading to the declaration of the election results exposed her as a square peg in the "wrong" hole! No wonder Ken Agyapong was fuming the girl had used bottom power to ascend that high profile position. Everything she has done the last 24 months seems to testify to Ken's presumptions. Her departure would bee good ridance for us all!

What has the current child play at the EC got to do with the NPP, and how does it make the hypocrisy of the NPP party glare? If anything at all, it is the NDC who have come out prematurely, as has always been their practice, to start threatening foolishly to resist attempts to oust Charlotte from the position she has shown herself as being incappable of handling competently. The NDC must rather be the hypocrites here. They should have eaited for Charlotte's responses before taking sides on the matter. By making those premature threats, the NDC has shown that all the rumours that went flying about 24 months ago Cconcerning the former president's intentions for planting Charlotte at the EC were true and justified. This is also testimony to th skewed thoughts of the peoplecalled NDC!

There will be absolute sanity at the EC and the rot Charlotte Osei has been engaged in, together with the others, will be erased completely from the Electoral Commission. It will be a very thorough exercise to inject the needed discipline, integrity and focus in workings of the institution. That is what would prevent the turmoil you speak off, not the resignation of Charlotte Osei. It's either of two options, impeachment or resignation. Her choice.

Charlotte Osei is foolishly stoking the fire that has been ignited by her accusers. She has foolishly tried to parry the charges filed against her by the petitioners by cooking charges against her subordinates, but they will all backfire on her.
She was sworn into office at the end of June. Any sensible person would not expect her to have been able to start the stages of awarding a contract to the tune of GHC40 million and signed it off within two months of taking office. Such a contract would, by all accounts, have been initiated long before she took office. So if one of the deputies, whose job it is to act on behalf of the chairperson when necessary, and had the capacity to sign such a contract did so as part of her duties, how can the chairperson turn round and try to convince us to assume that the deputy acted illegally?
And why has it taken Charlotte a good 24 months to decide to bring this out into the open? Is it not a sign of her own ineptitude to head the commission and supervise the work of her deputies? If anything had been done wrongly, Charlotte would have to take the final blame for it. She should not expect somebody from outside the commission to oversee what goes on inside the department.
Whatever happens, Charlotte is pushing hard to get herself out. Her idea is that if she has to go, then she will make sure she goes with people she came to meet. Otherwise it would be foolish for her to use charges against her deputies to answer the charges that have been levelled against her. Fare thee well, Charlotte.

Obed, please read her assertion again. she said the contract was signed before Mrs Charlotte Osei took over as EC boss and that contract was before a committee (ETC) of which she was the chair and so she has been mandated to sign that contract as it went on the procurement of the commission but when Mrs Osei took over she ceased to sign any contract which is the right procedure under any insulated institution like electoral commission and other well organised companies with a committee when there no head at the time the chair of the committee is allowed to sign on behalf on the institution so with regard to the contract signed before Mrs Osei appointment she is right but if she signed any thereof, then that is totally wrong. my 2 cents

Georgina had no business signing contracts after that date except where Charlotte delegates same to her. The buck stops with Charlotte and not Georgina when things go wrong.
