Action Movement of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused the former first lady, Lordina Mahama and the siblings of former President John Mahama of being the cause of NDC defeat in the 2016 elections. The spokesperson of the group, Kodzo Hamenya Keglo speaking at the Ghana International Press Centre said “while JM was preaching made in Ghana goods (such as shoes, batik and locally made clothes), the wife was doing the opposite by printing T Shirts from China which is a huge disappointment for Ghanaian printing companies.The 20 million pieces of T Shirts JM’s wife printed from China, could have been shared to party members to print them locally and would have created a lot of jobs for Ghanaians.”
JM’s brothers are the main reason why we lost the 2016 elections, collecting all contracts from Airport, Roads, Cocoa Board, GNPC, ECG , VRA, Ministry of Power and all major contracts in the country.“If you don’t see JM brothers, you cannot get a contract and if you see them, then you have to pay money before you get the contract, frustrating foreign contractors and companies by taking Ghanaian contractors for granted and creating enemies for the NDC party,” the former first lady, Lordina Mahama and the siblings of former President John Mahama of being the cause of NDC defeat in the 2016 elections. Martin Amidu is a true statesman. Clause 3.v. 4 must completely be deleted because it seeks to introduce some elements of complication in the swift fight against corruption. Even that indemnity clause for past presidents must equally be erased because it simply defeats the purpose of the entire bill. And like Martin Amidu said, corruption is corruption and crime is crime irrespective of its degree. The one who stole one dollar and the one who stole a thousand dollar from the national coffers are all thieves. A thief is a thief is a thief is a thief so what's the point in shielding any of them from being going to jail/. Martin Amidu is right for it will show a total waste of time and a defeat to the president's fight against corruption in its entirety without regard to it's degree.

Thank you very much Mr Martin Amidu for your observation and commitment to getting the right thing done,the minority in parliament needs your indeth knowledge to function well,all the issues the raised in opposition to the bill was just for the fact that it was not gazetted,the too known former deputy attorney general should bow down his head in shame.There should be no limitation in the mandate of the special prosecutor in fighting crime and corruption of any magnitude.It could also be that the framers of the bill do not want the special prosecutor to investigate small cases like plantain and goat cases,But whatever it's Ghanaians trust Mr Martin Amidu and his commitment to fighting crimes of any nature,I am an Npp member but ll not attack this selfless proud citizen of Ghana like the Ndc did when he advised them,they still attack him.

the constitution already criminalizes bribery and corruption and there are specific state institutions to deal with it. why doesn't govt give the auditor general the legal power to prosecute right after auditing ? no institution can privide verdictable evidence than auditors. sadly politicians from rawlings to nana addo are happy to see the auditor general report rot at attorney General office or at best being massaged and masturbated at public accounts committee .

why will an auditor finds someone guilty of financial crimes and we don't legally back the same auditor to prosecute in court but want a political attorney General minister and legally flawed special prosecutor to take over and deliberately use procedures to kill the matter ?

ndc was corrupt, npp is corrupt, judges are corrupt, chiefs are corrupt, pastors and mallams are corrupt, public and civil servants are corrupt, parents and Guardians are corrupt, citizens are corrupt. one of us eventually becomes the president or chief justice or speaker of parliament or any position.

Martin amidu is a blessing to Ghana but im surprised he thinks nana addo is not capable of inserting or endorsing that wicked clauses in the bill. I honestly think our govt is over staffed and duplicated roles. the number of anti corruption institutions is more than any other countries but we remain the top leaking country in the world.
