Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye
Rt. Hon. Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye, the current Speaker of Parliament unlike the two immediate past Speakers is not biased, New Patriotic Party (MP) lawmaker for Sunyani East, Hon. Ameyaw Cheremeh has said.
“When I entered parliament in the year 2009, the Speaker we had was Justice Joyce Bamford Addo. …she was the first Speaker I had an experience with as Member of Parliament (MP). …sometimes we disagreed with her but she did well”.
“Hon. Doe Adjaho came in us a Speaker and if you ask any minority member now and they will be fair and candid in their opinion, they will tell you he was totally biased against [then] minority “, Hon. Ameyaw Cheremeh alleged.
I will not be able to talk about other Speakers we have had previously but this current Speaker is not biased and I can say he is the best” he claimed on Kumasi-based Ultimate Fm’s morning show,
“I have drawn the difference between this current Speaker and the past two Speakers. I will say the minority has no cause to complain”, he fumed.
“If there is any biases, then it is towards in favour of the minority National Democratic Congress members rather not us”, the NPP lawmaker said.
“Sometimes we are worried of more space given to the NDC minority on floor of parliament “, Hon. Ameyaw Cheremeh revealed on the show calling the bluff of the impeachment processes of the Speaker.
