Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso started and lasted the entire duration of the match as Deportivo Alavés cruised to a 3-1 win against second-division side Formentera in the first leg of Copa del Rey Round 16.
Alaves took the lead in the 36th through Demirovic but the host got a shock equalizer in 59th minute.
Alaves kept probing till they restored their lead once again through Demirovic.
Striker Munir El Haddadi got a third for the visitors late in the game latching on to a great pass by Wakaso to put the result beyond doubt.
The return leg will be played on the 10th of January, at the Mendizorrotza Stadium.
