Ghanaian defender Abdul Baba Rahman finally made a return from his long injury layoff in Schalke 04’s 1-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
It was his first competitive game in more than a year after suffering a serious knee injury whilst on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The 22 year old rejoined the Royal Blues on an 18-month loan deal from Chelsea during the January transfer window but was unable to make his second debut until now.
The Ghanaian was an unsused subtitute in Schalke’s squad for their game at Augsburg last week, but finally got to play his first minutes since re-signing for the club.
Baba Rahman entered the fray in the 57th minute replacing Evgen Konoplyanka and looked lively in his debut performance.
Guido Burgstaller scored the only goal of the game in the 21st minute to hand the Gelchenkirken-based club all three points.
