Majeed Waris will sign a four year deal with FC Porto following an automatic activation of the permanent clause in his initial loan deal, according to a report by Footy-Ghana.com.
The Ghana striker joined the Dragons on loan from FC Lorient during the January transfer window.
And having helped the side to win the Liga NOS, both Waris and the club are content with the relationship. The 26-year-old’s loan terms specified that in addition to his performance, his stay was to be made permanent if Porto remained in the Portuguese top-flight.
“Waris belongs to FC Porto. He has a 4-year contract automatic option with Porto after the loan deal under the condition of Porto staying in the Liga NOS,” the official representative of the player, Yusif Chibsah revealed to Footy-Ghana.com.
“Porto won the championship and therefore they stay in Liga NOS which makes the automatic option applicable,” the ex-Ghana international further explained.
Majeed Waris featured eight times including a Uefa Champions League appearance against Liverpool during his initial loan spell.
