Ghanaian attacker Joseph Paintsil marked his debut in the UEFA Europa League for KRC Genk as they thump Brondby 5-2 at the Luminus Arena on Thursday evening.
The former Ghana youth star joined the Belgian Jupilar Pro League outfit from Tema Youth in a four-year contract last month.
However, he was not able to start the campaign with his new teammates after suffering an injury during their pre-season training.
He returned after four weeks to mark his competitive debut over the weekend in their 3-1 win over Sporting Charleroi in the league.
The 20-year-old was handed his debut in Europe's second-tier club competition on Thursday when he replaced Congolese midfielder Dieumerci Ndongala in the 74th minute in their 5-2 win over Danish side Brondby in the first leg of the Europa League final qualifying round.
Paintsil announced himself in the colours of the club with a fantastic assist for Leandro Trossard to seal the win for Genk in the 91st minute of the game.
