Supreme Court to determine owners of Woyome’s properties on June 27

The Supreme Court has deferred its ruling on the application seeking the ownership of certain properties the state had identified as belonging to the embattled businessman and judgement debtor, Alfred Agbesi Woyome which is being claimed by defunct UT Bank to June 27, 2019.

The apex court’s single judge, Justice A A Benin was expected to determine whether two executive buildings located at Trassaco in Accra, the office complex of Anator Holdings at East Legon, two residential buildings at New Town and Abelempke believed to be for Mr Woyome are indeed his or that of UT Bank.

The court in a similar application is also to determine the ownership of a mining quarry in the Eastern Region which Anator Holdings is laying claims but the state believed belonged to Mr Woyome.

The State said these properties it believed belonged to the judgement debtor and could prove vital in retrieving the remaining GH¢ 47.2 million judgement debt out GHc51.2 million he received from the State.

The parties have been instructed to return to court on June 27, 2019 for a joint decision after the presiding judge met the parties, the DAILY HERITAGE gathered.
