Former Governor of the Bank of Nigeria Prof. Charles Soludo wants the Akufo Addo to introduce one-village one clinic policy to honour the memory of the late Vice President Kwasi Amissah-Arthur.
Speaking at an Economic Forum in Accra, Prof. Soludo said the death of the former Vice President exposes the country’s healthcare system.
He called on the government to address the inefficiencies in the health sector.
“For K.B to die on a treadmill exposes the limits of our medical technology and Ghana should be able to say never again by mainstreaming medical facilities and technologies.
Again by the Ghanaian way, let’s shoot for whatever is possible, let’s shoot for one-village one-clinic powered by smart technology. Ghanaian entrepreneurs can opportunistically respond to K.B’s[Amissah Arthur] death,” Prof. Soludo said.
Mr. Amissah-Arthur died in June 2018 after he collapsed at the Air Force Gym and was rushed to the 37 Military Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Born April 29, 1951, Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, was an economist, academic and politician who was the fifth Vice-President of Ghana, in office from August 6, 2012, until January 7, 2017, under President John Dramani Mahama.
