Swansea City manager Steve Cooper is hoping talismanic forward Andre Ayew stays beyond the January transfer window after links to Leeds United.
The Ghana captain has been in inspiring form for the Swans this season, netting seven goals in 20 Championship appearances.
GHANAsoccernet.com reported this week that Leeds United have shown interest in the attacker, who could reunite with former boss Marcelo Bielsa.
Despite the links, Cooper is confident the former Marseille winger will stay beyond the winter transfer window.
“No, not at all. Not a thing,” Cooper is quoted as saying by Walesonline.com. “There’s a lot of players excelling in the league at the moment and we’ve definitely got one in Andre so I’m sure he’ll be talked about and you’ll be asking me every time I sit here until the end of January.
“He’s in fine form and he’s really enjoying his football and training here. We’re enjoying that and hopefully it’ll last for a longer time than January.”
