Accra, June 6, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor has directed Ms. Patricia Appiagyei, Deputy Minister of Ashanti Region, to act as the Chief Executive of the Kumasi Municipal Assembly, an official statement said in Accra on Monday.
The statement issued by the Office of Chief of Staff and Minister of Presidential Affairs assured residents of Kumasi that the President would soon nominate a substantive Chief Executive.
The Government, the statement said, appeals to stakeholders in the Kumasi Municipality to cooperate with Ms. Appiagyei and offer her the necessary assistance.
The statement said the President's directive was made in accordance with Section 145 of Act 462.
