The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is reportedly considering moving Ghana's next home game against Sudan to Togo.

According to Ghanasoccernet, the GFA is considering two neighbouring countries, Togo and Ivory Coast, but favours hosting the game at Togo’s national stadium.

The GFA has reportedly begun discussions and is expected to announce the home venue for the Black Stars' game against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in October.

The match could be played at a neutral venue due to CAF withdrawing its approval of Baba Yara Sports Stadium to host Ghana's remaining home games after Angola complained about the state of the venue during their 1-0 win over the Black Stars in September.

The National Sports Authority (NSA), which is in charge of all national stadiums, closed the Baba Yara Sports Stadium following criticisms over the poor condition of the pitch.

According to the NSA, the venue will not host any events for a month as it undergoes maintenance.

If the venue is not ready in time, Ghana would have to play at a neutral venue as the remaining three national stadiums are all deemed unfit to host CAF category 3 matches.

The Ghana-Sudan first-leg tie is slated for October 7, 2024.
