Minnesota United forward Abu Danladi has been named as one of the 3 finalists for the Major League Soccer AT&T Rookie of the Year award.
Danladi impressed in his rookie season, tallying the most goals for all league rookies with 8. Half of Danladi’s goals this season (4) were game-winners, enough to lead all rookies and Minnesota United in that statistic.
The striker was also credited with 3 assists on the season. Danladi’s game-winning goal over Montreal Impact is also up for Goal of the Year, and you can vote on that here.
The other two finalists named were Philadelphia Union defender Jack Elliott and Atlanta United midfielder Julian Gressel.
Elliott started 29 games in the back for Philly, and played 2621 minutes this season. Gressel ended his rookie year with 9 assists and 5 goals for the other United.
The award will be announced on November 8th.
