Ghana striker Dominic Adiyiah has completed his controversial move to Turkish second division side Karsiyaka.

The 22-year-old signed a one-year bumper loan deal from Italian giants AC Milan.

Adiyiah will wear the No.40 jersey.

The move marks a dramatic drop in fortunes for the attacker who was wanted by several top-flight clubs in Europe.

The former U20 World Player of the Year signed the deal despite his agent’s advice against the move which could jeopardize his national team career.

AC Milan managing director Adriano Galliano forced through the deal for the Ghanaian to play for the club owned by his friend.

”This transfer shows that we are keen on realizing the vision of the club. I thank everyone who contributed to this transfer. It was a difficult period,” Karsiyaka president Nazim Torbaoglu said.

“Adiyiah had offers from clubs in UK and German leagues but I know this place is a good start for him.

“The one who helped us a lot with this transfer was Milan sports director Adriano Galliani our close friend and businessman Ali who helped in many way. We say thank you.

“To the thousands of the our supporters who came out to give him the massive welcome we also thank you because you made Adiyiah like us instantly.”

Hundreds of supporters of the club met the former world youth best player at the Adnan Mederes Airport in Izmir on Tuesday on hearing that they were about to make their biggest ever signing.

The vociferous fans waited for hours to meet Adiyiah and when he landed they broke into singing and dancing while chanting the Ghanaian player’s name.

Fireworks and pyrotechnics also welcomed the striker as extra policemen and security officials had to be called in to control the ecstatic crowd

He was carried shoulder high while wearing the club’s jersey to greet the fans before being whisked away to see the club’s facilities.

The bumper cash move, to the club owned by one of Turkey’s richest men, could severely damage his chances of playing for the Black Stars.

With Matthew Amoah on the radar of Ajax Amsterdam, Italy-based Richmond Boakye Yiadom being considered for the Black Stars and Junior Agogo eyeing a comeback in Scotland, he could fall out of the limelight thus costing him his place in the Black Stars.
