Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey featured as Atletico Madrid beat English Premier League side Arsenal in the International Champions Cup.
Atletico Madrid on Thursday afternoon defeated Arsenal 3-1 on penalties in the International Champions Cup played at the Singapore National Stadium.
Luciano Vietto opened scoring for the Spanish giants in the 41 minute before Emile Rowe levelled for Unai Emery’s side in 47 minutes as the game ended 1-1 after 90 minutes.
However, the game eventually ended 3-1 on penalties as Eddie Nketiah, Joe Willock and Henrikh Mkhitaryan all missed their spot kick for the North London club.
Thomas Partey started the game but was substituted in the second half as the La Liga side continue preparations ahead of the new campaign.
The win means Atletico now occupies the 6th position on the log with 3 points from one game, while the Gunners occupies the 9th position with no point from one game.
