Former Asante Kotoko skipper, Amos Akwasi Frimpong was bought to replace Yaw Frimpong who left for TP Mazembe.
Frimpong served Kumasi based side for eight years and was awarded as the captain of the club in 2015 and led Porcupines Warriors to various achievements before leaving to Guinea giants AS Kaloum Stars.
According to Amos Kotoko loss to continental club masters Accra Hearts of Oak in the 2004 Caf Confederation cup finals motivated him to show his best anytime his side face against Phobians.
"Before joining Kotoko, I escorted my father always at Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium to watch Asante Kotoko games. I remember when Hearts of Oak flogged Asante Kotoko in the CAF confederation Cup final game, I felt sick and could not walk back home," he told Kumasi FM.
"Anytime Kotoko Sporting Club meets Accra Hearts of Oak, that painful history gives me a special motivation to do something as a wreak," he disclosed.
