Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s new found midfielder Michael Anaba has sharply become the secrete snake that has been unlocking opponents midfield to keep the ‘Porcupine Warriors’ going high.
Anaba who caused the red army lighter purse to getting him sign from Windy Professionals to Kotoko just before the start of the season has settled so quickly in the middle of Kotoko attack and thus becoming the toast of most Kotoko supporters who have little or no information about the young midi before joining their beloved club.
The midfield ‘Russian Tanker’ together with Thomas Abbey who now plays for Accra Hearts of Oak formed the marrow of the Windy Professional team that caught the attention of most pundits of the game in last seasons FA Cup competition where Anaba was nominated for the most promising player category.
Going to play for arguably the biggest club in Ghana without his midfield partner raised eye brows to a lot of people because the two, apart from playing for the National Sports College also played for the Potsin T.I Ahmadiya Senior High School team that caused a lot of havoc to Winneba Senior High School which had the likes of Jordan Opoku, Harrison Afful, Nafiu Iddrisu and Apam Senior High which also had the likes of Samuel Inkoom, Abeiku Quansah and Stephen Gurah.
But like the midfielder promised on Pink 96.9 fm a moment after signing for the Porcupine Warriors that he was ready to fight for his position and help the club win laurels is a whisker from coming to fruition because Kotoko have stretched their lead on the Glo Premier League to nine clear points.
“I’m aware Kotoko is a big club but I will definitely fight hard to get a position and also help the team to win Cups. For me my secrete has always been hard training and I know with God on my side I will find my feet in Kotoko”, Anaba told Pink fm.
Anaba according to source loves training to the extent that when the players of Kotoko were braked for the Christmas holidays came to the Sports College where he spent most of his boyhood playing days to train with his former colleagues for two days before departing for home.
Liverpool has scored a total of thirty goals this season and Luis Suarez is believed to involving in twenty three out of those goals but when it comes to runaway league champions Kotoko, Anaba has been Coach Maxwell Konadu’s secrete snake that has been biting his opponents.
Anaba is a good ball juggler, a dribbler, an excellent passer of the ball especially long passes and above all a student-of-the-game who seldom attract card from officiating officials.
