English giants Arsenal would have to make major sales to fund manager Mikel Arteta’s desire to swoop for Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey.
Partey has been linked with the Gunners this summer following his impressive performances for Atlético Madrid this season.
But the Emirates Stadium outfit would have to sell some players before they can swoop for the Ghana international due to financial constraint.
According to reports, the club are likely to sell Matteo Guendouzi, Alexandre Lacazette or Lucas Torreira to raise the funds required to sign the 27-year-old midfielder.
Partey is understood to be keen to join Mikel Arteta next season and the Arsenal manager has him marked down as a key arrival.
But Arsenal, who asked their players to take a 12.5 per cent pay cut during the coronavirus lockdown, will only be able to spend money raised from sales this summer or bring in loan deals, making rebuilding the team problematic.
