Assembly members of Asokwa municipality of the Ashanti Region have endorsed the president's nominee for the position of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).
Mr Akwanuasah Gyemah was given an outright endorsement with 16 out of 16 valid votes cast in the Yes or No poll, representing 100%.
The poll, which was officiated by the Electoral Commission (EC) and supervised by Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah, saw some of the voters displaying the face of their ballot papers to the public to show their preference, which violates electoral commission laws of secret voting.
Mr Akwanuasah, after his confirmation, thanked the assembly members and promised to work together with them to help develop the municipality.
Asokwa MP Patricia Appiagyei, promised to work with the newly-elected MCE.
The Ashanti Regional Minister advised the MCE to work in harmony with the assembly members in order to ensure development in the area.
