Part of the Atletico Madrid board want the club to sell Thomas Partey to mitigate the economic effect of the COVID-19 pandemic, GHANAsoccernet.com can report.

Diego Simeone's side are thought to be open to cashing in on the star, which could pave the way for a move to Arsenal.

Cadena COPE has reported that some senior figures at the club want the Ghana international sold with Arsenal ready to meet his £44.5 million evaluation so they can mitigate the economic effects of post-coronavirus crisi.
