Atsu features as Newcastle beat Southampton

Christian Atsu featured as Newcastle United beat Southampton on Saturday to move 10 points clear of the relegation zone.

The Ghanaian international put in a decent shift after he was brought on for Miguel Almiron in the 64th minute.

A hat-trick from Ayoze Perez was enough for the Magpies to claim a 3-1 win against the Saints in the Premier League at St James’ Park.

This victory leaves Newcastle almost certainly safe but Southampton remain five points above the drop zone with four games left to play.
