Baba Rahman close to joining Ligue 1 giants Rennes

Ghana defender Baba Rahaman is in advanced talks to join to Ligue 1 outfit Stade Rennes, FootballMadeInGhana.com can exclusively reveal.

Rahman, 24, is on a hunt for a new club having terminated his loan deal with Schalke 04.

The left-back is desperate to get his club career on track having recovered from a serious knee injury while in action for Ghana.

Baba is substantially a player of English giants Chelsea but has been unable to command a regular first team place with the Blues.

The left-back is currently in talks with Ligue 1 side Rennes to seal a deal for the rest of the season.

Rennes will have the first option to buy the Ghana international if he impresses in his loan period.

Baba was recently linked to Super Lig side Goztepe but the deal fell through as the Goz Goz went for fellow countryman Lumor.

Baba Rahman had an amazing rise in his career after a wonderful outing with Greuther Furth before joining Augsburg where he recorded incredible numbers.

He attracted several offers after a brilliant performance at Augsburg but swiftly moved to Chelsea in the English Premier League.

His troubles started when he was sidelined for a year after sustaining a career-threatening injury while playing for Ghana at the 2017 AFCON in Gabon.
