Ghanaian international Bernard Tekpetey featured for Ludogorets on Tuesday night when the team defeated Qarabag 2-1 with 10 men.
The talented winger started for the Bulgarian club in the first leg of their last but one tie in the qualification for a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League group stage.
In the game played at the Tofik Bahramov Stadium in Baku, Bernard Tekpetey put on a good performance as he operated from the flanks.
Despite a goalless draw in the first half, both teams battled it out in the second half and produced three goals.
In the 56th minute, Dinis Almeida scored the first goal of the game to give Ludogorets the lead.
Ten minutes later, Juninho equalized for Qarabag to make it 1-1 before a late strike from Caio Vidal in the 87th minute won the game for Ludogorets.
Ghana’s Bernard Tekpetey was substituted in the 61st minute and replaced by Rick.
Although the Bulgarians finished the game with 10 men, it did not deny the side victory.
