Black Stars ‘B’ arrived in Lome, Togo on Friday evening for an international friendly against the Hawks of Togo at the Stade Kegue on Sunday.
The match forms part of plans to intensify preparations ahead of the 2018 CHAN qualifier against Burkina Faso in August.
The management team of Black Stars B and GFA on Thursday afternoon resolved amicably initial inertia on the part of some clubs to release their players for this important game. The technical team has been very busy in recent weeks trying to establish a formidable squad for the two-legged CHAN qualifier against the local Stallions next month.
In the process, the team has played eight friendly matches without defeat and have banged in 24 goals and conceded only 6. Two of the games were against the national teams of Benin and The Gambia respectively.
Notwithstanding this impressive record, this is the team’s first test away from Accra, and seeks to give the players some level of international exposure ahead of the qualifier.
