CAF appoints Ghanaian referee Daniel Laryea for Al-Ahly-Sundowns clash

The Confederation of African Football(CAF) have announced officials for the Return Leg of the CAF Champions League tie between Al-Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Return Leg is Scheduled for March 7 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Tshwana. Ref. Papa Gassama will be the centre Referee and he is expected to be flanked by his two Assistants, Seydou Tiama and Abdul Aziz Jawo. Daniel Laryea will stand in as the reserve referee for the experienced Papa Gassama.

The Ghanaian Referee has risen to Prominence in recent times and was most recently in Charge of the final Group Game between BIDVEST WITS and DJOLIBA in the CAF Confederations Cup. He’s also the only Ghanaian likely to feature in the CHAN Tournament Slated for Cameroun later this Year.

Al-Ahly hold a strong 2 goal advantage over Sundowns and will hope to banish memories of the 5-0 humiliation they suffered in the hands of their opponents at the same Stage Last Season.
