CK Akonnor pleased with Fatawu’s return

Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach Charles Akonnor is glad to have attacker Fatawu Safiu in his team for the important NC Special Competition semi finals game against Hearts of Oak though he will have loved him to make Ghana’s AFCON squad.

was part of the 30-man squad called by Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah for training camp in Dubai ahead of the 2019 AFCON but he could not make the final 23 which came out out earlier this week.

The in form attacker has been Kotoko’s best player this campaign and his return for the epic clash on Sunday will be vital for the Porcupine Warriors.

“I’m happy to have Safiu back to the team, i would have wished he joined the Black Stars team to Egypt though he will join the team today ahead of our game against Hearts of Oak.” Akonnor told Nhyira FM

Fatawu has netted eight goals so far and is leading the goal king race in the competition.
