Premier League giants Chelsea are set to boost Arsenal's chances of signing Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Teye Partey if a swap deal involving Miralem Pjanic and Jorginho takes place.
The Blues are expected to be active in the summer transfer window despite the financially troubled times due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
According to reports in England, the Uefa Champions League winners are considering a swap deal involving Miralem Pjanic and Jorginho as Frank Lampard seeks to overhaul his first-team squad.
Chelsea will meet with the Pjanic's representatives as well as Juventus ahead of a proposed move despite having three years remaining on his contract at the Allianz Stadium.
If the deal goes through, the Gunners will take advantage to complete the signing of Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey as they will be the only club looking for the services of the Ghanaian.
The Ghanaian has supposedly informed Atletico that he wants to leave Spain and move to the Emirates this summer, but Arteta's side is not currently in a position to meet the player’s £43.6million.
Partey has been one of the consistent performers for Los Rojiblancos, making 31 appearances in all competitions thus far.
