Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu has backed his manager Steve Bruce to succeed at the St James park after a difficult start to life at the club.
The Englishman replaced fan's favourite Rafael Benitez after his departure to China but has endured a turbulent start with defeats to Arsenal and newly promoted side Norwich all but confirming the fears of fans that this season will be a difficult one under his watch.
But after a hard fought victory over Champions league finalist Tottenham Hotspurs at the White Hart Lane, Christian Atsu believes it the start of good things to come.
The Ghanaian winger was full of praise for his manager “We’re a very good team,” that the formations used by Bruce have worked and they will continue to get better, with all the players really understanding his methods.
“This is going to change a lot of things for the players and the fans. The season is a long season, so we just need to carry on. Any formation that he wants to play, we are behind him. We’re going to give everything.”
“I can say, gradually, we’re really understanding his game plan. We’re very organised and always behind him. This is going to change the atmosphere.” he stressed.
