Ghana centre-back Daniel Amartey has expressed his delight with the number of playing time he has churned out in the ongoing campaign.
Amartey has earned the confidence of manager Claude Puel following a difficult start to life at the King Power Stadium.
The 23-year-old's impressive performance in the season has been rewarded with a three-and-a-half-year contract extension despite being on the treatment table since October, after breaking his leg in the side's 1-1 draw with West Ham United.
The new deal will keep him at the club until the summer of 2022 and the former FC Copenhagen defender is hoping to make a quick recovery.
"I am very happy to sign this contract at Leicester City," Amartey told LCFC TV.
"I’m an easy guy, I work hard, I focus and by God’s grace, my recovery is getting better. I was playing well and then I got this injury, but I have to be strong when I come back."
“Personally, I am happy because last season I didn’t get much playing time and this season the manager gave me the chance so, for me, I was very happy.”
He continued: "I first have to recover from my injury. I pray to God to recover and when I come back, I have to be strong with a strong mentality, I must work hard, and do my best."
Amartey featured 10 times in all competitions prior to his injury.
