David Opoku completes $350,000 move to Al Muaither SC
Ghanaian striker David Osei Opoku has completed his $350,000 move to Qatari top side Al Muaither SC following a successful medical on Monday.
The 25-year-old who spent last season in Lebanon with Premier League side Al Egtmaaey Tripoli signed a two-year contract with Mohammed Sahel's charges on Tuesday.
The former Chelsea FC player is expected to lead the attack of Al Muaither who seek to make a huge impact in the Qatar Stars League this season.
In an interview with Footballghana.com, Opoku revealed how motivated he is to help push Al Muaither to the zenith.
"It's a new opportunity for me to showcase what I've got and I really thank Muaither club for this opportunity and I believe that I can help the team in every way possible."
"I did very well in Lebanon last year and I did my best. Now in a better league and I hope things go well for me." He said.
David Osei Opoku earned a call up to train with the Black Satellites team in June 2011 when he was still enrolled at UC Santa Barbara but failed to make an appearance.
He, however, gained another call up to camp with the national team in October 2014 and made a second half substitute in a friendly against Nigerian senior national team, which was played in honour of the opening of the Akwa Ibom international stadium.
