Ghana midfielder Ebenezer Ofori featured for VFB Sttutgart in their 2-1 defeat SG Dynamo Dresden on Thursday.
The 22-year-old replaced Matthias Zimmermann in the 46th minute as the promoted Bundesliga side lost against the German second-tier team.
Daniel Ginczek headed home the opener for the Cannstatt Boys before Dresden levelled the scores through former VfB man Philip Heise with a shot from distance on 52 minute.
Substitute Lucas Röser made it 2-1 for Dynamo in the 64th minute.
Ofori is expected to be key for Hannes Wolf ahead of the start of the German Bundesliga this season.
