Fred Darko Expose Organizational Chaos in WC Secretariat

Chief Coordinator for the Ghana World Cup secretariat has exposed the numerous organizational chaos that engulfed the running of their administration.

Speaking on Wednesday at the Commission of Inquiry into the 2014 World Cup sittings Mr. Fred Ebo Darko told the lordships that the over $100,000 that he carried to Brazil was purchased from a forex bureau.

"How much did you took to Brazil," Justice Senyo Dzamefe asked.

"My lord a little over hundred thousand dollars. I have to verify from the account office," Fred Darko answered.

"Mr. Darko do you think we are small boys here? you took over a hundred thousand dollars on you to Brazil and you are telling us you don't know the exact amount?," Justice Senyo quizzed.

"My lord I want to be sure," Fred Darko added.

Who gave the money to you?

"The accountant (Chief), Mr. Apasu. In fact we had to buy from the market," he said.

"You bought the hundred thousand dollars from the forex?," Moses Foh-Amoaning asked.

"Yes! from the forex bureau. No my lord I think so," Fred Darko said.

The chief coordinator told the commission that the players costuming and accommodation for the Presidential Ball was GHC 149,000.

He also added that drinks, food and catering services for the function was provided by Labadi Beach Hotel.

On the issue of supporters accommodation and feeding Mr. Darko said as far as he's concern it was perfect but they had to change their initial plan where the supporters were using a special voucher to collecting food because it was creating long queues which the fans complained.

However, the chief coordinator admitted that there was a systemic failure in the execution of their work.
