Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has disclosed that the FA is undecided on a friendly match between the senior national team, the Black Stars, and their US counterparts.
There have been widespread reports of the FA agreeing on a deal with the US Soccer Federation for a friendly match between the two countries. But according to Mr Daara, the GFA is still in search of a friendly match for the Black Stars but cannot confirm if it will be with the USA.
“All we can say is that we are looking for a friendly opponent and we have not reached any conclusion yet. When we reach any conclusion with any opponent, we will let you know,” he told Class Sports’ Desmond Decker.
Ghana and the United States have only met in the three successive World Cups in which the West African country has featured. The Black Stars have beaten the Americans on two occasions but lost to the Americans at the 2014 Mundial hosted by Brazil.
