Head Coach of Accra Hearts of Oak Frank Nutall has downplayed the importance of his team’s qualification to the semi-finals of the ongoing G8 tournament and insists that is not the main focus.
The Phobians needed two late goals from super sub Richard Zuma to hand them a vital 3-2 win over improved Ebusua Dwarfs and ensure they qualified to the Knockout stage as runners-up in Group to Medeama.
The result means that Accra Hearts of Oak have set up a date with sworn enemies Asante Kotoko who emerged winners of Group A in the semis.
The Scottish manager in his post match presser told reporters the tournament is still very much a pre season to get his team in shape ahead of the new season and nothing more.
“Team building is an going process and we are still a work in progress. To be honest, to me it’s immaterial that we got to the next stage of the competition it’s not really my main focus”
On his assessment of the match against Dwarfs the gaffer said;
“They showed cool heads and perseverance in sticking to the game plan but it’s only a pre season game as i said before it’s only part of a rebuilding process so we shouldn’t get carried away”
